As an Australian entrepreneur, I take immense pride in my enthusiastic dedication to the world of small business ownership. I am continuously inspired by the varied ambitions, backgrounds, and experiences of those who courageously pursue their passion and become their own boss. However, no one who owns a business will tell you that it’s easy.

For me, the last two decades of business ownership has been like riding a wild rollercoaster. Nothing quite compares to being the “Man in the Arena”, coming up with an idea, raising capital, bringing it to life, dealing with the ups and downs, seeing it either take off or crash and burn, or that awesome feeling of kicking back and knowing you've totally nailed it!

It’s true, I've felt that rush of excitement and hope at the beginning, tackled the tough challenges and fears of growing - sometimes way too fast. I've experienced the thrill and the gamble of selling off what I've poured my heart into building - several times myself, and hundreds of times as an intermediary for others. And yes, I've faced the gut-wrenching decision of saying goodbye to a dream and closing up shop.

Let’s rewind to 2020 when the world stopped. I stopped.  I had to pivot. I started writing stories about my own good, bad and ugly experiences as a business owner, and also what I had witnessed happening to other business owners. Then slowly (almost accidentally) I wrote 6 “How To” small business courses and created an online learning platform where I recorded and uploaded a heap of web lessons. Within 6 months, these courses gained popularity among entrepreneurs and small business owners/managers across the world providing valuable insights and guidance on navigating the intricacies of the business ownership lifecycle.

Looking back now, I’m surprised I could keep it all going when the lockdowns lifted and work flowed back in, but the thing is, I found joy in sharing these stories and lessons. Yes, the content is personal, brutal and honest, but I suppose that’s what makes this project so unique and so relatable to others.  

Fast forward to 2024, my team and I have developed the Business Owner App. This innovative platform aims to empower individuals to achieve balance and fulfillment in both their professional and personal lives. It can be download to your device for free on the App Store, Google Play, or access it right here on my website. My overall objective with sharing the App and Workbooks is to help people better themselves by getting back to what brings joy and good health to their lives. If it’s business, great! Let’s grow its value.  But, if your business is making you sick and miserable, you need to learn how to survive until you find a way out - sell or close. The feedback I receive about these web classes is that people are spending more time exercising, following better diets, having holidays, playing guitar, doing yoga, golfing better, creating spreadsheets, doing taxes, writing a book, reading faster, getting married, staying married, getting divorced or getting out of business… they are improving their lives in hundreds of amazing ways.

So here’s the thing… My path is your path. I am simply a few years ahead of you.  I started my first business in the 90’s. People kept buying my products and using my services, and I kept taking baby steps, putting one foot in front of the other. Over two decades later, I have built a business where I am able to work one-on-one with clients, while also helping thousands of people online, which provides me ultimate satisfaction, income and lifestyle.

It’s all about creating a business that makes you an incredible income, so you can do the work you were put on the earth to do, or … simply get out of business and find something that brings you immense joy and good health.
